About

Our home is on the back side of our duplex located on a cul-de-sac in a quiet, mature neighborhood which is just a short jaunt to all the Charleston sites. It is perfect for families with little ones, couples, or business travelers. A note on guest count: we can accommodate up to 6 adults in beds, not including infants. Good to know

The space Our home makes a great "home base" for busy days at work or at play in the Charleston area. You will appreciate quick freeway access which makes getting around a breeze. We are located: 25 minutes from Mt. Pleasant, downtown Charleston, & West Ashley's plantations; 30 minutes to IOP/Sullivan's beaches; 15 minutes to Summerville, the airport, & Tanger Outlets; 5-10 minutes to grocery stores, mall, Target/Wal-mart, hospital & Wannamaker Park (playground, water park, etc.). We own the entire property and a have both sides of the property as AirBnB rentals (See Child-Friendly Retreat Near Charleston for our other listing). Our home is approximately 1650 sq ft. Bright living room has stylish & comfortable furniture, including 2 reclining swivel chairs. We have only one TV (a smart one!) in the house, located here. We have a bright, spacious, well- appointed kitchen should you like to enjoy some baking or cooking while you're here! Due to allergies/asthma, our home is pet, smoke, and carpet free. We have three bedrooms: The master has a Casper Element king sized bed, en suite bathroom with tub, dual closets with plenty of shelving and hanging space, private sitting area, lamps with USB charging ports, ceiling fan, and room-darkening drapes. The second bedroom has a Casper Element queen bed and a crib (height appropriate for toddler), a dresser with changing pad, walk in closet, a nursing chair (swivels, rocks, and reclines), ceiling fan, and black-out drapes. The third bedroom has a twin bunk bed with removable bed rails (effectively making the bottom bunk double as a toddler bed, and making it easier to change linens). Bunk bed does not have a ladder (big kids can climb up the side no problem), preventing little ones from accessing top bunk. Room has plenty of floor space, books and toys for playing, a walk in closet large enough for a travel crib, a floor fan (safe for little ones!), and black-out drapes. House has a small, bright office nook with two workspaces. Laundry room has front loading washer and dryer. Both bathrooms have tubs. All blinds in home are cord free and we keep outlet covers on low, exposed outlets. We have a Keekaroo high chair, a KidKraft playset, and several other outdoor toys. Private fully fenced back yard has lots of room for little ones to run around and a patio for grilling out or enjoying a meal. Property is well lit from the street to the backyard by automatic exterior and security lighting. Off street parking is available for 2 to 3 cars. Neighborhood has a tennis court & playground, & our house is located 2 blocks from a fire station in the event of an emergency. Other things to note: Please note that an active train track does run directly behind our house, but trains are normally not allowed to blow their whistles, so it is just the rail noise. If you are a light sleeper, we suggest you bring ear plugs or a white noise machine. It does not disturb us or our children.

Other Details to Note

An active train track runs behind our house, but you will rarely hear a whistle unless there is an emergency. We suggest a sound machine if the rail noise will bother you at night.

House Rules

-We will not accept bookings for groups that do not include the person making the reservation, i.e., booking for someone else and not actually staying at our home. -No additional guests are permitted post-booking (actual guest count may not exceed the agreed upon guest count at the time of booking). -Do not disturb guests in other unit or park on/ block their driveway. -Additional parking is on the street. Do not park on grass or block neighbors' mailboxes. -Please let us know immediately, not after your stay, if you have a maintenance issue or any other problem so we can take care of it right away! -Please help us keep our home fantastic for all future guests by keeping shoes off the furniture, food & drink out of bedrooms, sand out of the shower, and food covered in the microwave. -No pets. -Please be careful with beauty and hair care products on our linens. We will request reimbursement for any permanently stained or damaged bedding or towels. -Please strip beds to the mattress pads, place all used linens in pile in utility room, and start the dishwasher upon checkout. -Make yourself at home, and treat our home like you would your home. -Have fun and don't hesitate to contact us if you need anything! : )

Accessibility

Neighborhood

One of our favorite things to do is go on a walk or ride bikes through our beautiful neighborhood, which also has a playground, a reservoir front park, and tennis courts, all short walks away. Our neighborhood is regularly monitored by police (watch those stop signs!) and grocery stores, restaurants, and shops are right outside the neighborhood.

My coworker and I stayed here while completing a project and it was perfect for us with the location so close to everything we needed and some amazing food. The house was also very clean and the hosts were so nice and accommodating, I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Charleston.
